Cleveland Mechanical has awarded C.A. Murren a subcontract on their Units 1 and 2 Utilities Relocation at Plant Scherer.
C.A. Murren’s scope is Construction of three concrete foundations consisting of 355 CY of concrete. Installation of 970 LF of 18", 30", and 60" smooth lined HDPE Pipe and thirteen storm structures up to 7' diameter and 17' deep.
Robert W Scherer Power Plant is a coal-fired power plant at Juliette, Georgia, just north of Macon, Georgia. The plant has four units, each producing 880 megawatts. It has two 1001-foot chimneys, the first built in 1982 and the second in 1986. Plant Scherer is the fifth largest electric generating plant in the Unites States.
Work is scheduled to start 3-25-09.
